As the world's population grows, we are facing a number of global challenges in the realms of environmental conservation, societal equity and ensuring that nobody is left behind in the transition to a digital economy. Artificial intelligence is a key technology to not only address some symptoms of these issues, but also helping create completely new innovative approaches that can create a more sustainable economy and lifestyle.

Recursive is an AI consulting company based in Japan working on developing solutions to some of these challenging problems. We collaborate with large Japanese enterprises to create innovative solutions to sustainability challenges, merging in our expertise in AI research and our client's domain knowledge. Our development projects focus around the main themes of improving efficiency, accelerating innovation, risk mitigation and better work and education.

Recursive is founded by Tiago Ramalho and Katsutoshi Yamada. Tiago was a Senior Research Engineer at Google Deepmind and Lead Research scientist at Cogent labs and brings years of machine learning expertise to the company. Katsutoshi is a serial entrepreneur and AI expert with experience in developing and establishing innovative business models in Japan and abroad.

Founded in 2020, we are now looking to grow and expand our impact further, building on previous successes. One of many initiatives we are currently pursuing is a system to optimize irrigation of peatlands in Indonesia, helping to prevent forest fires and maximize carbon absorption. The Solutions Architect serves as a critical bridge between our technical teams, including Machine Learning Engineering and Software Engineering, and our Business Development and Sales teams. This role is pivotal in ensuring that technical solutions not only meet but exceed client expectations, aligning with both technical possibilities and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Analysis and Solution Design
    • Engage with Machine Learning Engineering and Software Engineering teams to gather detailed technical constraints and capabilities.
    • Design viable technical solutions that address client needs and align with our technological capabilities.
    • Craft proposal decks that clearly outline these technical solutions for clients and the Business Development team.
  2. Sales Project Management
    • Maintain meticulous records of project status, ensuring timely follow-ups and updates.
    • Analyze and report on project-related numbers and analytics, providing insights into sales project performance.
  3. Client Engagement and Collaboration
    • Collaborate closely with the Business Development team, ensuring that technical proposals align seamlessly with business objectives and client needs.
    • Engage directly with clients when necessary to gather detailed requirements or provide technical explanations.
    • Revise and refine proposals based on client feedback and changing requirements.
  4. Team Coordination and Communication
    • Foster open channels of communication between technical and business teams.
    • Motivate colleagues, ensuring everyone is aligned in purpose and direction.
    • Regularly convene meetings or syncs to update all stakeholders on project status and gather feedback.
  5. Continuous Learning and Innovation
    • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in the solution architecture domain.
    • Provide recommendations on how to enhance our technical offerings and sales approach based on market trends and client feedback.
